Reason 2: it raised £400. Thanks if you were one of my sponsors. If you weren't but would like to be, ianomore@yahoo.co.uk is the address.
Reason 3: It taught me both the value of keeping God in touch throughout the day and how much it sucks when you forget. It's been a while since I prayed as much as I did on the road to Lyon from Auxerre, and it felt good! It also sorted out my head in ways I hadn't been aware needed sorting.
I'm looking into getting Bethel to syphen my support through so that we can claim gift-aid on it. That's one of the downsides of charity officialdom...I'm not part of a registered charity, so I don't qualify for tax-deducted support, although I hope and expect I won't be any less valid an agent for change and 'charity' (love, not pity) than the next foreign worker in Blantyre.
Leaving people behind is a very funny feeling. If I'm utterly honest, I only rarely feel truly sad that I'm leaving people. I tend to focus more on how I will manage it, I guess. There's no doubts I'm going to miss all of you reading who I know, but how that missing manifests itself I have no idea. I'm going to have to do my best to say goodbye well, I guess.
